"Some of the worst mistakes of my life have been haircuts."
Love The Doors and their music!! Thats all there is to it! I would say that Jim Morrison was in his own special way a mystifying fellow, The Shaman (right written?) Nevertheless I love The Doors: think that all four of them were special, unique, a combination that made what we now adolise so dearly. Not only Jim Morrison!!! (He was the key element of it all though!)
His death made him The Myth that he is today, without it The Doors & Morrison would not be the same. Sorry but that is the ultimate truth! Also the time (60´s) was just like made for a group like The Doors. The whole world was going through all the drama that these days is only a vague memory (if remembered by anyone).
Still...the only thing I do find funny and amusing is Jim Morrison "in lederhosen". Find it amusing & comic :)
Can´t help it - it is funny :)
(Jim would undestand, I know: all the best Jim up there!)
I am a 63 year old veteran of Vietnam, I continued my service to Desert Storm and then to Army Retirement. I Loved the Door's Music ( "Light My Fire" High School) while serving in Viet Nam (1968-1972). Still own original
33 RPM LP Record's, old 45"s and 8 track tapes and play them all the time, YES all playable. Thank You for your music, maybe Jim will smile from above.
For me The Doors is a State of Mind. Internet has been invented in Seventies (I think). Only today found this site or to be precise - THIS COMMUNITY. Did not have a clue about this - love to be here and hope to make many new acquitances & friends. As The Doors is a real part of my life this site (and this community!!) was a real treasure to find.
Here we would like to share some findings we've added to our collection.

Thank you so much for participating in this project. We received photos from thousands of Doors fans from all corners of the globe. We wanted to create an image that showed just how vast and diverse the Doors community is and to celebrate the band."
I hope some of you will be entering and donating to The Doors MOVEMBER photo contest for cancer awareness ...I entered and some "fans" are being mean to me saying Jim never had a goatee...which I asked Tony Funches if Jim had ever worn one and he said No he hadnt because " He either shaved or didn't shave; a Goatee requires primp & trim, & Jim was NOT a Fan of such activity ..." Straight from a reliable source for sure!!! anyway...I gave it my best shot and only 5 fans have submitted photos...it would be nice to see some of you participate or donate as this is what MOVEMBER is all about!! For the Month of November, send us your photos for a special “Doors and Me” album featuring your Movember 'staches. Ladies: You are welcome to participate as well. One participant will win a Doors prize pack at the end of the month. And in honor of Ray Manzarek, The Doors have started a Movember team to raise funds and awareness for men's health. Join The Doors team for Movember here: http://mobro.co/thedoors
Anyone know how Jim Morrison and Pam Courson were supposed to have met initially? Also need a little help here with this photo. I recognize Jim Morrison obviously. And I know that Babe Hill and Tony Funches were supposed to be the in that photo. So between the two of them which one is which? Sorry for the "dumb" question there guys. But going to include either one or both in my play and I want to be as accurate as possible. Thanks!!
