As a movie critic in San Diego -- thought I'd alert you all to this fine bit of news. The hysterical new movie The World's End -- from the guys that did Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz -- they do a long segment where they go on a pub crawl while Alabama Song (whisky bar) is played. It's a hysterical scene and wonderful movie. See it when it comes out.

Apocalypse Now!
right on!

I recall reading all the news about it coming out
--How Francis Ford recorded 100’s of people
stomping their feet
in his driveway for use in the soundtrack.
It where he got the idea for his excellent wines---
and attending the opening premier
total experience!

Robert Zemeckis likes using Doors music in his movies
Light My Fire is used in Cast Away

What does Forrest Gump, the Doors & Bob Dylan have in common? Well prbly not much or maybe more than the surface reveals. I had a strange synchronicity relating these Three.

I watch Forrest Gump as sort of a Labor Day tradition. I like the metaphors in the movie and it always does a number on my emotional state.

This one particular year (2006) I purchased “Modern Times” by Dylan which came out that Labor Day week. So I had the experience of listening to the new Dylan & watching Gump.

As I was intently listening to, “Working Mans Blues #2” & watching Forrest silently --I was gazing out the Blue Door. It was a beautifully clear cumulus clouded day. Please don’t chase the clouds> pagodas. Just as the Dylan song was ending, what came floating by my Door?
A white feather!

nofooling !!!!

Now It took me a Gump moment to realize what I was experiencing. I mean, its not like white feathers are falling everywhere, and even if they were, the way this one diagonally danced and flitted into my view was uncanny. It landed on the Door sill. I gathered it up, and put into the Dylan CD case. It is now the white feather on the standup bass strings in the back cover.

So that’s a synchronicity that I think would make a Carl Jung or Joseph Campbell be envious of.
