Jeff has now mentioned the Hawaii show twice which I'm thinking they have a better source than the boot that's out there. Does this mean they have found Bruce's tape he recorded the show with???? If so, how good is it? Just wondering.
Heh-heh. No offence taken. Yes, Pats, I am the Doors archivist and I know more than anyone what we have and what we don't. Just like any archive though, it is a living breathing thing. And just like anything involving The Doors, there is always mystery and myth. The Doors archive is no exception. Most collectors have heard the bootleg of Hawaii attributed to a Bruce. If the recording exists, it would be in Bruce's possession. I have not yet discussed this with him.
Hey Dave, not for nothing and please don't take this the wrong way but aren't you the Doors archivist? If so, shouldn't you know what's in the vaults and what isn't? If you do know and can't comment on it, I'd rather you just say you can't comment on it because either Jeff or the band don't want it out there. I would understand that completely. No question about it. To say you don't know about it, really makes me scratch my head. Personally, I would want to know everything that's in the vault since I'm the archivist. Doesn't that make sense? Again, this is not a rip on you, I'm just stating, I think, in my opinion, the obvious here. What say you?
Not sure of the exact status of Bruce's tape. Sorry. If any new information comes around, I will post it here!
Hi Dave, Jeff had mentioned on the boards once a year ago or two and then mentioned it again on one of his last posts talking about future possible stuff which could see the light down the road even though the show is not complete. He may have wrote down the wrong show but who knows. Is Bruce's tape of the show lost or gone?
No new information or movement as far as that Hawaii recording goes. Sorry. Where did you see it mentioned?
A better quality Hawaii would be quite a find and an awesome release as I think it's a great show!
