It came.... I am excited beyond words!
The woman I bought it from on ebay said she bought a box of old rolling stone magazines at an estate sale and this was in the box. To me its priceless but I guess she wasn't a big Doors fan or she wouldn't have let it go.
@harpsfly I bought it on ebay. I only paid 30 dollars. Only one person tried to outbid me. I think people thought it was fake. But it definitely is the real deal.
How did you get your hands on something like this?
@got_groove I agree completely with you. It is truly tragic especially with the fact that Jim Morrison went to Paris to start anew and get away from it all for a while, so to speak. From interviews I have heard, he had planned to return to the States and wanted to tour for L.A. Woman. The world was definitely jipped of what was to come when Jim returned...
how great to see an original rolling stone mag from back then in the 70's! and to see jim on the cover the way it should be not the guy who killed people in boston....
That is wonderful and sad at the same time. A treasure to be sure and don't we wish it never happened? It was inevitable, I suppose. One can only wonder about the possibilities that would have been realities had Jim lived to turn 70 in December this year. Terrible truth and painful unknowing. In Jim's words (Ode to LA while thinking of Brian Jones, deceased):
I hope you went out
Like a child
Into the cool remnant
of a dream
The angel man
for his palms
