I haven't read Johns new book yet but things don't seem to add up.
John made two albums without Jim and also toured under the doors after jim died. So I am not sure he can say he was trying to protect the legacy and why would he want to play without Jim. I saw the doors if the 21st century in London and I was skeptical. But with the modern arena equipment and the tightness of the band and the class tunes it was a 9/10 gig. The only thing that was a little off about the gig was rays comments about drug usage, which was a but cheesy and Ashbury did mimic Morrison. But overall I think the gig and the music was well worth seeing and didn't detract from the history of the doors l, Morrison and their work.
