Hi Doors fans! I just wanted to let you know that I've been releasing "teaser" clips from our upcoming movie "Before the End: Jim Morrison Comes of Age" to our Kickstarter backers, first, and then (a day or two later) to our Facebook & Twitter pages.

Here's the first one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFNpYvM1ZGo

I just released another one to our backers that details a pretty incredible situation that Jim was in where he saved someone's life! I don't believe that, before now, anyone knew about this. And, right now, only our backers (and the people involved) know about it.

http://kickstarter.BeforeTheEndMovie.com - pledge to get exclusive access to these teaser clips!

We're trying really hard to raise money to edit and generally make our movie look pretty. Most of the interviews have been completed, and we have learned some pretty amazing stuff about Jim that we're very excited to share. But we need your help.

Thanks!

Me too, actually! I also thought of Jim as the way he was in The Doors movie and every subsequent portrayal of him since. I was always a Doors fan, but really didn't know much about Jim until Jeff & I met (almost 10 years ago) and he was all "No no NO! Jim was NOT like that!"
Now, years later, we're doing a movie about him. We're really hoping to blow through (break on through?) all of the crap that's been shown and written about him to show the real Jim. Funny, awful, incredibly smart, sometimes sadistic, compassionate, talented, artistic, weird, normal guy he really was. Not this one-dimensional pretentious buffoon they're always portraying him as.

Oh, I do so hope this film happens! It appears that this film may be the first of it's kind. What has truly been amazing is that no one on the Doors Message Board for the longest time seem to have any other idea of Jim except through the Doors movie by Oliver Stone. When I first brought up (on the DMB) that Jim was nothing like he was portrayed in the movie and in reality he was a warm, kind, sensitive guy who had the best sense of humor of anyone I have ever known, people were amazed! I had people pm me and say they had no idea that Jim had a sense of humor. Yes, and he was also one of the best listeners of anyone. He loved meeting other people and had a true interest to learn who someone really was.

Even after all of these years I can truly say he was unlike anyone else I have ever known, he was so genuine.
