Hello all. This is my first post so please forgive me if I have gone over old ground.
I have been listening to The Doors music for over 30 years and I can still remember the immediate and deeply profound impact this band had upon me.
Now I had been listening to lots of music and bands since my teens, as was the right of passage of a teenager in my generation. The Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Boston, Journey, Kiss, Queen, Bowie etc etc etc. I thought that I had heard it all. However when I was 19, bought the original Best of...LP record and completely hooked to this; dare I say it UNIQUE band. John Densmore, playing complex rythmn patterns, Robby Krieger playing the coolest and grooviest guitar with a balance of full on intensity and quiet subtlety and Mr. Manzarek creating masterpieces of mood, with walls of sound, tension and emptiness which I had never experienced.. Finally Jim, arguably Rock's greatest frontman and a man of the times, iconic, dangerous, poet to a global generation. A coming together of right people at the right time whose music still appeals and maintains that WOW.

To all the Kids out there, ditch all the Simon Cowell karaoke drones, this one size fits all rubbish. Seek out the uniqueness of "The Doors", you owe it yourself....
Excuse my rant...

That is all
